My relevant experience:I have lived in Noosa with my wife Ann for the past 16 years and been involved in the tourism industry for that time with the Management Rights of the Regatta in Noosaville and The Lookout Resort on Noosa Hill. I was a member of the community/council committee for the 2000 Shire Heritage and Discovery Trails and was also a community/business member of the 1999 Cultural Facilities Project Management Group. I am a past Member of the Noosa Economic Board.

Why I am involved:I am eager to contribute to the local tourism industry in Noosa and believe I would be well suited to the position due to my broad range of experience in various tourism, hospitality and retail related businesses. Current projects & activities:I am co-chair the events committee for Tourism Noosa. I also write a blog for the Tourism Noosa website, about things to see and do in Noosa.

My relevant experience:I have been a journalist for 15 years and have spent 12 of those years specialising in travel and tourism. I write a weekly travel advice column for Fairfax newspapers and am the travel deals editor for ninemsn in Australia and MSN in New Zealand. I moved to Noosa because I could think of nowhere I would rather live. I have been an active member of the community, through several volunteer roles, social and networking groups and with my two young children.

I'm most passionate about:Encouraging people to get out of their normal life and experience something different, whether it be a beautiful bushwalk or a great meal. I want to see all ages and types of travellers coming to enjoy Noosa - and hopefully returning many times in the future.

Current projects & activities:I am President of the Noosaville Association and a co-owner of a local tourism business.

My relevant experience:24 years in IT and telco industries including start up organisations and large public companies. Before leaving Australia in 1999 I was CEO of Logical Networks Pty Ltd a networking infrastructure company with offices across Australia and New Zealand. I moved to the UK as Managing Director Logical UK & Northern Europe with more than 700 staff. Over the next 5 years I held director level positions with Cable & Wireless Hong Kong, and Vodafone Global UK with responsibilities for merger & acquisition integration, technology & product development, and global online portals. I moved to Noosa almost 3 years ago. I have a Diploma of Teaching, Bachelor of Arts in earth sciences, and a Master of Business Administration.

My relevant experience:I worked for Qantas in a Head Office Marketing & Finance role for 11 years. I was the Owner Principal of Elders Real Estate in Tewantin and a member and Vice President of the Tourism Noosa Committee until 2000, as well as being a member of the Noosa Community Tourism Board which developed the first ten year Noosa Sustainable Tourism Plan. I have been a Board Director and past Chair of the Noosa Community Tourism Board as well as a Board Director of Tourism Sunshine Coast (TSC).

My relevant experience:I have over 15 years experience as a hotelier in Australia and was introduced to the Sheraton brand in 1992 at the Sheraton Towers Southgate in Melbourne. I moved to Sydney in 2000 and as the Director of Rooms for Sheraton on the Park, my many roles included planning and execution for the hotel’s Olympic period. I became Acting General Manager of the then Four Points by Sheraton Port Macquarie, was recognized for numerous successes and appointed Hotel Manager of the 631 room Four Points by Sheraton Darling Harbour, Australia’s largest hotel and the winner of the Starwood Worldwide, Four Points Hotel of the Year Award in 2005. After 18 months as the General Manager of Four Points by Sheraton in Victoria’s Geelong, I moved to Sheraton Noosa on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast as General Manager.
