Why I am involved:I haven't found anywhere in the world quite like Noosa. Being involved allows me to make a small contribution to the region's future.

Current projects & activities:Having left a corporate career, my work with the Noosa Biosphere is my principal involvement in the community. I am a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

My relevant experience:Limited in Australia and New Zealand. Initially trained in accounting, my career included administration, marketing, finance, government relations, strategy development, governance and general management across the agriculture, manufacturing and consumer goods segments. A major piece of work on promoting a sustainable sugar industry in the face of significant economic and environmental challenges has been beneficial to my work with the Noosa Biosphere.

I'm most passionate about:... ensuring that no single discipline dominates decision making in the Noosa Biosphere. We must take into account environmental, social, cultural and economic aspects if we are to maintain a truly vibrant sustainable community.

Why I am involved:I am passionate about the strength and viability of the Noosa business community.

Current projects & activities:I am co-owner of the Noosa Boardroom and also provide marketing and communications consulting services. I am currently working on business confidence surveys.

My relevant experience:Early in my career I established a grapevine nursery. I then became the national sales manager for a Queensland horticultural company, followed by 6 years at CSIRO (and an international joint venture) as the Marketing Manager for forestry research. Along the way I also picked up a fellowship in best practice knowledge exchange. My experience on the Noosa Biosphere Governance Board during the beginning of the process was very rewarding. I certainly gained a new appreciation of the diversity of talent (and depth of experience) throughout the entire Sector Board community.

I'm most passionate about:… best practice agriculture, the land, and a sustainable, viable and diverse economy that supports a variety of industries. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to start their own business. And through creative entrepreneurship, the entire community will benefit from new and fresh ideas becoming a reality.

Why I am involved:I am seeking to encourage organisations to see the opportunities to their business that the Biosphere presents.

Current projects & activities:I am principle of my own consulting business and non-executive director or a youth focused community group. I am currently working with the working with organisations that provide disability services state-wide.

My relevant experience:I’ve had 15 years manufacturing experience and 10 years in education (between vocational education and training and higher education) I’ve been involved in Sunshine Coast economic development for the last six years including the Maroochy Economic Development Advisor Board and the Noosa Creative Class project (based on the work of Professor Richard Florida) and most recently as a member of the state committee for the Queensland Business Icon challenge. I am a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management.

Why I am involved:To learn about the integrated resource management of Noosa and support the business community.

Current projects & activities:I provide property investment advice/solutions and lecture property development at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

My relevant experience:My past employment history includes nine years in hospitality ultimatley culminating in part ownership of a boutique pizza restaurant.
In recent years I have been active in property funds management, property consulting and education.
Currently I chair the Australian Property Institute's Sunshine Coast Discussion Group and contribute as a local committee member of the Property Council of Australia. -
I'm most passionate about:Providing a sustainable environment for my kids and the future generations through integrated resource management and fostering a sustainable economy in Noosa. From a recreation perspective I love the beach and am a passionate surf life saver and nipper teacher.
