Six groups of local community volunteers form part of the structure to manage the Noosa Biosphere Reserve. The boards have developed action plans to address the following subjects:

Vacancies arise from time to time. If you’re interested in joining a sector board, please complete a nomination form.
No announcements found.Nominations should be send to Helen Gregory by 18th of February 2010
All nominations are reviewed by members of the Community Sector Boards and then selections are put forward to a working group within Council, for final approval by the Sunshine Coast Regional Council.
In order to achieve well-balanced teams with a range of different but complimentary skills, experience and strengths, the following selection criteria apply:
Note: Board members shall be appointed for their individual skills and experience and shall not be appointed to represent the views of any community group or organisation.
Note: In considering any vacant positions, selection will also be based on a gap analysis model and aimed at appointing nominees with skills and qualifications relating to the initiatives to be planned and implemented by the Sector Boards.

The relevant expertise, networks and experience provided by sector board members can be invaluable to anyone wishing to promote a suitable initiative. If you believe your project could benefit from an association with Noosa Biosphere please read more about the endorsement process and criteria before getting in touch.
It is best to make one considered approach to the most relevant sector board via the contact form.
Investigate these boards further by following the links at the top of this page. All board members should be very approachable and happy to chat about your project prior to you submitting a more formal proposal. Just remember they are volunteers, so do your homework and be as confident in your facts and assumptions as you can be in order to make the best of their time and yours.
Meeting minutes are recorded and subsequently approved at the next sector board meeting. They are hence being uploaded to the website with a 6 weekly delay.
For older meeting minutes see the archive >
