We encourage industries where competitive advantage comes from intellectual property and innovation. At the same time we are working with the existing business community to help them improve and adapt what they do to more closely fit with best-practice biosphere reserve principles.
An economic development strategy is being developed to cover issues such as infrastructure planning and delivery, skills enhancement and attraction of low carbon industries. The Economic Sector Board works with the council's Economic Development Unit to achieve common goals. Read more here.
