Think 'Australian Idol' meets 'The Apprentice' and you are close to picturing Queensland's newest and most vibrant business competition for young entrepreneurs called Business Icon.
This morning I am heading down to Mooloolaba, along with the chair of the Economic Sector Board Greg Livingstone, to brief these young entrepreneurs, and I am kinda excited!
The Noosa Biosphere Economic Sector Board has sponsored one of the 'tasks' in the competition to help foster and support young business leaders. One of the objectives of a Biosphere is education. This, coupled with the concepts of sustainable development and sustainable tourism, we thought it was too good an opportunity to get bright young minds thinking about Biosphere challenges.
The task we have set involves the contestants working in groups to come up with creative communications concepts for tourists in the Biosphere - on how they can explore the Biosphere in a sustainable manner on a shoestring budget.
I am very interested to see what they come up with, and will let you know shortly!
