Noosa Community Radio 101.3fm will be broadcasting the very first ‘Voices of the Biosphere’ radio segment this Friday at 11am.
After many months planning, the Noosa Biosphere program will showcase a series of interviews about extraordinary people, views and opinions.
Described as a ‘magazine style’ program the one-hour weekly broadcast will touch on current issues, biosphere activity and planning, as well as feature some local artists.
The much anticipated first show will start with commentary on the week’s biosphere news headlines, background on the biosphere since designation and insight into how the Noosa Biosphere Reserve actually operates.
Future Friday interview subjects are expected to cover topics that emphasise community engagement across the full spectrum, as well as illustrating the diversity of activity already happening.
“We have sent out interview requests on subjects like climate change, the Kin Kin Quarry, business partnership opportunities, community initiatives, scientific projects, people stories, environmental industries, creativity and transport safety, ” said Michael Donovan, one of the show’s hosts.
“The partnership between Noosa Community Radio and Noosa Biosphere Reserve is a fine example of biosphere values at work”
“And as for me being the first voice on the show, well, lets wait and see. There are an awful lot of buttons and stuff to successfully transmit the show. I’m certainly in at the deep end!” said Michael.
Even with one presenter trained and a second presenter currently being trained, the Noosa Biosphere is seeking a third presenter to help widen the show’s appeal. Extra presenters will also help offer a diversity of views and styles, whilst also easing the burden on the biosphere volunteer network.
Tune in every Friday at 11am on 101.3fm. And if you are interested in becoming a presenter, please register your interest either in the comments section below or through the 'contact us' page on this website.
