The public are invited to a Noosa Biosphere dynamic systems development workshop to be held on Monday, 30 November to increase our understanding of the key systems, functions and processes of the Noosa Biosphere.
We recognise that achieving broad sustainability in the Noosa Biosphere requires an understanding of the underlying dynamics, interactions and relationships between the environment, the economy and the human population.
We are looking for a wide range of biosphere sector board members, individuals from all walks of life and representatives of key stakeholder groups to help identify and model the interactions between different systems within the Noosa Biosphere.
The workshop will utilise a systems thinking approach to help identify the connections between different elements of the biological, economic, social and cultural systems in the Biosphere. The systems analysis will identify the links and primary leverage points for change and/or knowledge gaps which need to be filled. Our workshop will utilise a participatory method to engage the participants in a ‘live’ process of collective thinking.
The workshop will be facilitated by Kambiz Maani and Ockie Bosch from the University of Qld who have carried out similar exercises in other Biospheres.
