Voices of the Biosphere, the weekly radio current affairs program produced by Noosa Biosphere, added a new presenter to the current team late last year. Former 101.3 fm Noosa Community Radio presenter Sharon Wright returns to the airwaves to co-host the regular Friday at 10am program with Michael Donovan.
Sharon will fill the second chair vacated by Kate English who after two-years on the program is returning to lecturer duties at The University of the Sunshine Coast (USC). Kate will maintain direct involvement in the Noosa Biosphere Ltd’s commended Noosa Climate Action Program with partners USC, South East Queensland Catchment Authority (SEQC), Noosa Residents and Ratepayers (NRRA). Kate will occasionally do a reprise guest slot.
Sharon joins the Noosa Biosphere community radio team and will represent the projects and opinions from across the six community sector boards that make up the scope of the biosphere community engagement program – Social, Education Research & Development, Environment, Culture, Economics and Tourism.
Sharon has had extensive experience in dynamic, media-led not-for-profit and charity organisations. Management of international, local and internal stakeholder relationships – media relations, sponsors, partners & community links. Sharon worked as the Senior Project Manager for Jamie Oliver’s social enterprise in London and has now studying a Bachelor of Journalism at USC.
Noosa Community Radio is a volunteer-driven community radio station, all broadcasts and other activities are delivered entirely by volunteers.
The Voices of the Biosphere team regularly interview guests from a variety of community groups across the region. Phil Moran from Noosa & District Landcare, Susie Chapman SEQC and John Lobb from NRRA have regular spots on the show, alongside others.
