Just a reminder that the Green June Events are coming up from Wednesday 1st June to Thursday 30th June and include:

5th June - World Environment Day at the Sunshine Coast University from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Attractions include, five themed areas including Energy, Food, Home and Lifestyle, Transport and Water, speaker forums, a community forecourt, kid’s areas, food stalls and entertainment.

17th June - Living Smart Glossies Awards at Sunshine Coast TAFE

The awards recognise and celebrate the sustainability achievements of Sunshine Coast residents, businesses and community groups in building design, construction, edible landscaping, transport and resource management.

18th June - Living Smart Solutions Expo at Sunshine Coast TAFE

The Living Smart Expo is a one-stop-shop for builders, renovators, businesses and households looking for sustainable products and services that are available right here on the Coast.

The expo is perfect for anyone looking for local suppliers of sustainable products and services or simply fresh ideas. There will be over 30 stalls demonstrating everything from energy efficient lighting, fair-trade gifts and rainwater tanks, to eco-architects, green roofs, green cleaning products and eco packaging.

A great drawcard is the exciting range of free workshops that will arm expo-goers with knowledge they can really use when they get home. Workshops include:

• -  designing and retrofitting homes for the Queensland climate
• -  practical bike workshop
• -  backyard permaculture
• -  green roof innovation
• -  composting and wormfarming sessions
• -  living smarter with energy at home

This year’s expo is part of the celebratory activities to open the Sustainability Interpretive Centre, at Sunshine Coast TAFE.
