With the Great Sandy Biosphere Man and the Biosphere UNESCO designation now celebrating its second anniversary, Dr Evelyne Meier, Chair of BMRG Ltd has launched an exciting competition to design a new logo to provide a better fit with the Man and the Biosphere designation.
Dr Meier said, “The original logo was fine at the outset, but it lacks one important element of the brand attributes of the Great Sandy Biosphere and that is the objective of the Biosphere to provided a sustainable balance between man and the environment, while also working to ensure the Great Sandy Region is a sustainable community, with all the entails in terms of business, jobs and of course this amazing environment.”
She added, “We also need a logo that can be utilised more easily in the myriad of applications over the coming years, giving us significantly greater flexibility.”
The competition will commence on May 1 and close on May 21, giving entrants three weeks to come up with entries that will more fully represent what the Great Sandy Man and the Biosphere region is all about, with entries being judged by a highly prestigious panel and the winner being announced at the BMRG Showcase in June.
John Alwyn-Jones of CelticaConsult Pty Ltd, who is managing the competition on behalf of BMRG said, “This is a really exciting competition, open to anyone in Australia, including professional or amateur graphic designers. We are very keen indeed to secure entries from companies, individuals, schools and colleges in the Great Sandy Biosphere region which stretches from Gympie to Bundaberg.”
He added, “I am also working on some really great prizes, so watch this space, hopefully including travel and the winning entrant being able to spend some time with some of Australia’s top graphic designers in their studios in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne!”
