Calling all budding eco film makers and potential sponsors, ECOFlicks is set to run again at the 2011 World Environment Day celebrations at the University of the Sunshine Coast in June.

Ecoflicks 2011 – Sunshine Coast Environment Film Festival

Ecoflicks 2011 is about “People with Passion Sharing a Vision”. It is a festival for the celebration of creative talents, with the vision to inspire environmental stewardship.

Through short films, budding film makers will create and submit their own films that will captivate, inspire and enthuse viewers.  Open to all amateur film makers, the ntries close on the 17th of May and each film can be up to 7 minutes long.

The film festival will take place on the 5th June 2011 during World Environment Festival at the University of Sunshine Coast (USC). The Environment Festival is a very popular event with extensive media coverage (TV, printed media and online).

Last year, the event was visited by over 7,000 people. This year, there will be a new theatre dome at the centre of the venue where Ecoflicks and other events will be showcased.

Ecoflicks 2011 will present six awards to the brightest film makers:
·         Best film (grand prize)
·         Best student film (for age under 18)
·         Most inspirational award
·         Best teamwork award
·         Technical achievement award
·         People’s choice award

STOP PRESS Good news:  NICA has just obtained an offer from the QLD School of Film ad TV who will sponsor their two training workshops for Ecoflicks film makers.
