The Floating Land Festival is being held on the 27th May – 5th June 2011 at Boreen Point, Lake Cootharaba in the UNESCO Noosa Biosphere.
The theme this year is ‘Water Culture’ as performers, writers, musicians, artists, scientists and photographers gain inspiration from natural waterways and the consequences of climate change when living in close proximity to them.
The creative responses which Floating Land offers aim to engage and entertain the local community as well as challenge thinking in regards to water issues, recognise water as a valuable commodity and explore new ways of thinking to inspire change.
Over the duration there will be interactive workshops and forums such as traditional Korean dance, deep ecology workshop, Gubbi Gubbi stories, water creatures workshop, Mauri Wai – Mauri Ora the healing energy of water, greening the arts and water lab: Interactive Symposium.
