Our native Bush Turkeys (or Brush Turkeys) are a common sight around Noosa
By the way, what do you say? Bush Turkey or Brush Turkey?
I say Bush Turkey, but it is probably incorrect. I have picked it up from various conversations with locals.
Anyway, these turkeys as most of you know are as 'bold as brass', and have made co-habitation with us look relatively easy compared to other native species.
I thought I'd draw your attention to an article by Lee Mylne, a recent visitor who investigated our rare Albino Bush Turkey.
Lee, a writer with Wild Discovery Guides, sought out our famous bird - got some great images - and talked to some experts.
When I was talking with Lee about guide book opportunities for our Biosphere, I was impressed by her passion for our region and the efforts she went to seek out accurate and meaningful information.
A different approach to investigating and documenting bush turkeys is from Victoria (aged 8) with her video below, produced in collaboration with her proud parents.
Do you know of any other good bush turkey sources of information?
