The Noosa Biosphere Ltd Governance Board is calling for two new community board members with a passion for our region and the willingness to volunteer alongside other locals to help make a difference.

UNESCO designated the Noosa region as a ‘Man and the Biosphere Reserve’ in 2007 and entrusted the broader community to continue their previous successful efforts in the three main biosphere functions of conservation, sustainable development and education.

Noosa Biosphere Ltd is made up of over 60 community members volunteering on multiple sector boards and one governance board – all working collaboratively with the broader community towards biosphere objectives.  

Participation on all Noosa Biosphere Ltd boards is voluntary and in addition, many members put in hours outside those meetings to work in partnership with others to complete a wide variety of interesting projects.

These two vacancies are part of the three independent members who serve on the Governance Board and from whom the Chairman of Noosa Biosphere Ltd. is appointed.  Applications close 19th September.
